Birr Airfield (EIBR)

Description

Birr Airfield is located 1 nm (1.9 km; 1.2 mi) south[1] of the town of Birr in County Offaly in Ireland. It was originally called Birr View Air Strip.
The airfield has one landing strip which is orientated north/south. Recent construction of a hangar allows overnight storage of aircraft with avgas and mogas facilities on site.
Open to the public, however prior permission is required. (see Wikipedia)

Installation-Informations:

  • The airfield is situated on a slope and is slightly sloping and uneven.
  • The artificial runways can be hidden, which is often useful for grass runways and/or for all runways if high-resolution photos of the airfield are available. It is sufficient to rename the affected runway files, e.g.:
    • rap598m26m_rwy.tmb__OFF
