DescriptionTNCS is located on the Dutch Caribbean Island of Saba. Airport Characteristics
Lat/Long: 17.6450 N / 63.2200 W
Elevation: 60 meters
Saba Island, Netherlands Antilles
Max Runway: 396 meters (1300 feet). Most Jets will not attempt a normal landing at this airport, but with excellent flying conditions / piloting techniques and reverse thrusters it is possible in an emergency. There is absolutely no overrun on either end past the pavement - a 200 foot drop straight down to the water. Make sure you land and takeoff into the wind. Routine traffic are BN-2 and DHC-6 Twin Otters and other STOL airplanes. This little airport belongs on the bucket list of any pilot - real or simulated.
With less than 1000 feet of usable runway, Saba's runway is the shortest commercial runway in the world. The local aviation authority requires a special permit to land here. The local commuter WinAir has permanent approval for their Islander BN-2 and -6 Twin Otters. The above description has been prepared by IPACS forum user JetJockey10.
