Nato Airbase Geilenkirchen (ETNG)

Description

The NATO airfield Geilenkirchen, English name Air Base Geilenkirchen, is a NATO military airfield in Germany and lies at Geilenkirchen.Initially known as the Royal Air Force Station Geilenkirchen, or RAF Geilenkirchen for short, the facility was the fourth of five so-called Clutch Stations, newly built Royal Air Force (RAF) bases near the border with the Netherlands and thus as far away as possible from the former inner-German border, alongside RAF Wildenrath, RAF Brüggen, RAF Laarbruch and RAF Nörvenich. Today it is the Main Operating Base (MOB) of the NATO E-3A Alliance, one of the two NATO Airborne Early Warning & Control Force (NAEW&CF) units.
