DescriptionBanff Airport is located 1.7 nautical miles (3.1 km; 2.0 mi) northeast of Banff, Alberta, Canada. It is operated by Parks Canada, as it is located within Banff National Park.
After about 10 years of being closed the airstrip was re-opened in 2007. Local environmentalists criticized the decision, saying that the decade of closure had positive effects on local wildlife. The airstrip is only used for emergency and diversionary landings. The above description has been prepared by IPACS forum user tommydee58.
