Altenburg-Nobitz airfield is one of the most important airfields for western Saxony and eastern Thuringia. With its central location in the Altenburger Land region between the cities of Leipzig, Chemnitz and Gera, the existing infrastructure and the almost unrestricted usability through all-weather ILS Cat I operations, the airfield is an important location for business aviation and general aviation.
