Military Noervenich (ETNN)

Description

The air base Nörvenich is a military airfield near Nörvenich in the district of Düren in North Rhine-Westphalia. It was initially planned for use by the British Royal Air Force (RAF Nörvenich) as another so-called Clutch Station alongside the RAF Geilenkirchen, RAF Wildenrath, RAF Brüggen and RAF Laarbruch. Thus, in the 1950s, newly built RAF bases were designated which were located near the border to the Netherlands and thus as far away as possible from the then inner-German border.
