Airport of Bex (LSGB)

Description

Bex is a municipality in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, located in the district of Aigle. It is a few miles south of its sister town municipality of Aigle. The canton of Vaud (French pronunciation: [vo]) is the third largest of the Swiss cantons by population and fourth by size. It is located in Romandy, the French-speaking western part of the country, and borders the canton of Neuchâtel to the north, the cantons of Fribourg and Bern to the east, Valais and Lake Geneva to the south, the canton of Geneva to the south-west and France (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) to the west. The capital and biggest city is Lausanne, officially designated "Olympic Capital" by the International Olympic Committee and hosts many international sports organizations. Bex is the site of a famous salt mine. The salt deposits in Bex were the first that were discovered in Switzerland in the 15th century. >>> This small airport and a 2nd basic runway near the refinery are the closest airports in AFS2 to the outstanding scenery complex.
