DescriptionThe airfield was built in 1941 as Royal Air Force Middleton St. George, and was home to RCAF units in WW2. In 1964 it was re-named Teesside International, but changed to Durham Tees Valley Airport in 2004. However, in summer 2019 it once again became Teesside International Airport. Ten miles south-west of Middlesbrough, it serves the North East, County Durham, and North Yorkshire. The above description has been prepared by IPACS forum user KJKsimmer.
