Tingwall Airport (EGET)

Description

Tingwall Airport (IATA: LWK, ICAO: EGET), also known as Lerwick/Tingwall Airport, is located in the Tingwall valley, near the village of Gott, 4 nm (7.4 km; 4.6 mi) northwest of Lerwick on the mainland island of the Shetland, Scotland. Although it is the nearest airport to Lerwick, it is not Shetland's main airport, which is at Sumburgh. It is the one most used for flights to islands within the Shetlands. Tingwall Aerodrome is licensed for flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Shetland Islands Council). (see Wikipedia)

Installation-Informations:

  • The artificial runways can be hidden, which is often useful for grass / gravel runways and/or for all runways if high-resolution images of the airfield are available. It is sufficient to rename the affected runway files, e.g.:
    • heli1_obj.tmb__OFF
    • rap……m….m_rwy.tmb__OFF

Navigation-Informations:

  • The navigation charts (aerodrom, IFR and VFR) can be downloaded from this site:
