Airfield Burg Feuerstein (EDQE)

Description

The airfield Burg Feuerstein is a airfield near the Upper Franconian town Ebermannstadt. It is the location of the regional performance center for air sports in northern Bavaria. The airfield is located about four kilometers northwest of the historic center of Ebermannstadt in the parcel Mirsberger height at an altitude of 497-511 m above sea level. Immediately to the south is the Feuerstein observatory, and for the visual flight approach both the eastern valley of the Wiesent and the western Main-Danube canal serve as a good orientation. Spontaneously, the airfield is located on an exposed plateau right above the valley of the Regnitz. To the east, the terrain rises towards the Franconian Switzerland, west it drops off to the Aischgrund. The above description has been prepared by IPACS forum user tommydee58.
