Beverly Regional (KBEV)

Description

KBVY - Beverly Municipal Airport was built in 1928 through the efforts of the Beverly Aero Club and the Beverly Chamber of Commerce. Shortly thereafter, the City of Beverly assumed ownership. During World War II the U.S. Navy operated the airport under a joint-use agreement. In 1950, the airport was formerly returned to the City of Beverly. On November 2, 2015, the Beverly Municipal Airport changed its name to the Beverly Regional Airport. Beverly Regional Airport is one of thirty-eight (38) airports within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Statistically, one out of every seven (7) municipalities in the state has an airport. 2 paved runways are being upgraded in late 2019 to handle increasing private jet traffic as an alternate to Boston Logan, 21 miles south. Runway 16 / 34 is 5,000 ft x 100 ft and runway 9 / 27 is 4,750 x 100 ft. Full services available. The above description has been prepared by IPACS forum user JetJockey10.
