DescriptionHosín Airport is a public domestic airport located 1 km from the center of Hosín and 7 km from České Budějovice in the South Bohemian Region. At present, it is used mainly for recreation - non-motorized, motorized flying and parachuting. The operator is Aeroklub České Budějovice. There are 2 runways (one asphalt), a hangar, accommodation, a restaurant and a control tower.
The airport was established in the 1950s as a civil aeroclub replacement for České Budějovice – Planá Airport, which was taken over for military purposes by the Czechoslovak Army. The acrobatic aviator, two-time world champion Petr Jirmus, also worked here. The above description has been prepared by IPACS forum user bods1.
