Description

Grabenstätt airfield, also called Falkenhorst Grabenstätt, is the airfield of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Grabenstätt. It is run by Josef Langbauer sen. operated. The airfield is located in Chiemgau, immediately north of the Grabenstätter industrial estate and half way to the Marwang district at an altitude of 538 m above sea level. NN. The Tiroler Ache flows to the Chiemsee three kilometers to the west, the Tüttensee is one kilometer to the southeast. The state border with Austria runs 20 kilometers south. Aviation has been in operation in Grabenstätt since 1974 and the area has since been continuously expanded into an airfield. Approval as a special landing site was granted in 2002. The airfield is a special landing site for aircraft of all kinds up to a maximum take-off weight of 2000 kg (MTOW), and has no regulated operating times. A landing is only possible after prior registration (PPR). The course has the ICAO code EDJG. There is an economic building, a ground-level flight control station (frequency 129.975 MHz) and two aircraft hangars. Flight operations take place only to a limited extent due to a nearby bird sanctuary for noise protection reasons. A landing permit for pilots not stationed on EDJG is only issued in exceptional cases. The above description has been prepared by IPACS forum user tommydee58.
