Charlotte Douglas International Airport is a civil-military airport in Charlotte, North Carolina. Established in 1935 as Charlotte Municipal Airport, the airport received its current name in 1982. It is the second largest hub for American Airlines after Dallas/Fort Worth, with service to 178 domestic and international destinations. The airport is ranked among the top 10 busiest airports in the world, averaging 1,400 daily aircraft operations.
